Jim is a San Diego native, the son of well known attorney James P. Miller, Sr. (deceased), and philanthropist Diane X. Miller of the East County. He attended Valhalla High School lettering in four sports and was fortunate enough to be able to continue his athletic career at San Diego State University where he earned three Varsity Letters and a national ranking with the Track and Field team (Javelin) before it was disbanded due to Title IX concerns. It was this combination of law, business and competitiveness in Jim’s experiences that lead him to representing the professional athlete.
Jim is married to Barbara Miller and has three step children. He and his wife together have one child, their daughter Jamie. His younger brother, Damian, is also a SDSU graduate with three boys and one step-daughter. Jim enjoys coaching soccer (National “D” license) and when time allows deep sea fishing and golf. He gives back to his community and is a past board member to the Sharp Grossmont Hospital Foundation (2009-2012) and has been a board member to NFL Hall of Fame running back, Marshall Faulk’s foundation since 2008.
